This argument is kind of pointless overall. Both MS and Sony are trying to gain marketshare from Nintendo by implementing motion controls. However, casuals are just that- casuals. They buy one system every 10 years at best, and they already bought a Wii.

The tech for both Sony and MS is great for its existing gamerbase, and I'm sure will have many good titles for it. Yet, overall, its not a market-changer due to the nature of the Wii install base.

in sony's case I don't think that's what this is going for:

notice how many 3rd party developer's have stated:

"Wii cannot sell HARDCORE GAME'S"

We know that's false, but with a control setup like the Wii the PS3 now is a

2nd platform for Wii only 3RD PARTY application's that can be offered to 3rd party's.

now with some tweaking Microsoft offer's a 3rd option. this is not about grabbing the casual , as so much grabbing 3rd party Wii only development project's.

which with what I can see sofar both Microsoft and Sony have a very good chance of getting some of those 3rd party Wii only software project's.

Umm, yes it is. The casuals market IS what they're going for. Sony even said so themselves at that show yesterday, I'm too lazy to look up the quote right now, but the specifically mentioned that with Move they want Wii owners to upgrade to a PS3. They want the market Wii has.

Besides, the whole thing, from the way it's presented in videos to the actual games themselves (casual Wii-like games) is clearly not meant to interest the hardcore, but rather, the casuals. This is blatantly obvious, really, judging from yesterday's event. The only thing those videos showed was happy families, girls, children and sports/mini games.
