Because due to his leadership we got one of the best games of Last gen in Metroid Prime, so far almost everything he's created has been top quality, so no he's not a god, but hes definetly someone you can't ignore, and to say he couldn't make Halo is foolish, in fact he'd probably make it more original,
with more adventuring aspects maybe even stuff like time travel, so you could find out about the origins of the
flood and maybe ways to stop them
