And MW2 sold more than TF2, or GTA IV, and so did Wii fit *shrug* I don't know why you're dictating profits as quality, a very shallow measurement if you ask me. I don't appreciate the dumbing down of games, just to appeal to more people. You really haven't provided a reason why unlocks via points is detremental. All you said was "TF2 does this", and let it off of that. You may get bragging rights, but I think people brag more about their K/D ratio than their total score or SPM, as CoD is famously known for.
Look, just answer the question. Why is providing an actual incentive to get points, BAD, as opposed to simply making it a matter of bragging rights? By providing an incentive, it encourages people to get more points (which is done by cooperative play, rather than killing and staying alive). |
Did you really bring non-FPS games into this discussion. I'd also love to see MW2 outsellinf TF2 on the PC. Also maybe that was exactly what threw me off BC2, it felt more dumbed down than it should have been so that it could appeal to more people.
I also said "TF2 does that, it sold more, therefore it seems more likeable with a better strategy." Also calling TF2 dumbed down to appeal to the masses would be very very wrong.
It's bad because if I want to shoot people, I want to fucking shoot people, not to wait to level up to get the guns I want to shoot them with. That should stick in WoW and other RPGs, which I love, but not in FPSes. In FPSes you shoot people with any gun you want, WoW is that way ------>
