I think that it is a great idea for Sony to incorporate blu-ray capabilities within the PS3, as the cell gets to do double duty with both games and blu-ray movies, which cuts down on the cost if you want to do both. If you bought a separate blu-ray DVD player, you would have to buy another processor, another GPU, etc etc so the customer just gets more bang for their buck when they buy something that can do both.
