If your son is so young he shouldnt be playing online anyway.
And there is violence in almost every game, tv show, etc... that is what makes it fun for us males, your kid probable plays some "violent"(not videogames) games with his friends, its part of growing like a normal kid if the parent knows the limit to it.
So, Id let him play "E" rated games which arent exclusive to any console until he is like 12 when he can play whatever he wants(the 12 year old thing is because I consider a kid with a brain similar to mine wont suffer any mental disorder by playing games which are clearly fake, depends on the kid though).
