I can't believe that some people who say they love MGS would prefer that newcomers didn't bother with MGS4 if they're not going to play MGS1-3 first (not that I'm saying you're in that bracket). MGS4 is a gateway drug - once someone tries it they want to try the other ones. I'd have thought true fans would want that to happen!

IMO, MGS4 is not that great and I m not sure playing MGS4 "alone" I would really have enjoyed the game ... particularly because MGS4 was not that greta IMO !

That is why I m warning people to play all the games OR to not play them at all.

Also, MGS1 and 3 are really, really the best MGS games IMO.

MGS1 and MGS4 are best in my opinion, with MGS3 coming a close second. I loved the boss fights from MGS3 though, they were definitely the best in the series, which is saying something considering how great the MGS1 boss fights were.
