The system is believed to use dead reckoning.
Basically if you take the sphere/orb out of camera sight at a set speed/second. The device assumes continuation of this speed and will expect it to reappear at a given time.
If you deliberately stop it behind your back then the accelerometers will be able to alert the system.
Of course there is the very slow motion take behind the back then slow stop, in which case IT WONT WORK !
