The writer's words still hold an amount of fanboyism.

If you read carefully, you'll see that he is pro-360 and anti-PS3.

Everyone has a bias; it's natural. You don't become a better person by trying to be neutral or not admitting your own feelings.

You become better by understanding your own bias and managing to keep an open mind despite it.

God, the parallels between this and larger-scale societal problems is fascinating. It's like admitting and understanding (subtle or not) cultural biases that are ingrained into people and adapting from there, instead of pretending that they're completely non-existent and moving from there. Objectivity is placed at such a high premium that the extreme difficulty of achieving it seems to be frequently ignored, because having strong opinions or just apparent biases makes you at best, obnoxious or stupid, and at worst, a bad person.

Or something.

Anyhow.
