He actualy said that you could activate the idle Spe. If it not defective. I wonder how the games would look if they could make use of all eight SPEs (which is impossible cause not all PS3s have them working) Or atleast the seventh maybe if they would shoot down the last SPE Sony could decide to make use of it because it would be useless then.

that's the trap it's very unlikely due to sony an IBM an toshiba took the worst case hack they could think of, and made it the Bait.

here is a question for you:

what if the 7 spe generates an mock security of the 8th SPE only while you used hardware intrusion would this go off, because it's like a single one way gate then when you try to dump the data from from the hypervisor, it take's a snapshot of the intrusion, and generates a false read out.

thus you only get inside the hypervisor once and the security update to the 7th SPE, to mimic the 8th SPE security software in the vault.

which would net you near to nothing because you still would not be able to get those reg. key's

not to say George did not hack it, I just think nothing will pretty much come of the hack

He already  said that he and  noone else will ever get the keys. But he can bend the rules so far to possibly hack the PS OS he already dumbed Lvl2 security barrier as far as I know that means he starts messing with the Game OS. Still not a threat but the gap is a little bit more open. Btw the scene still  has no PSP keys. Its not going to stop the hacker from doing their job.

where as the PSP key's are not needed, I think in the PS3's security it just may be because running unassigned code could very well be flushed before it is able to authenticate. at least that was what some of the IBM security designer's was talking about, they took the worst

Scenario

they could think of and built up the security from there, while I think what Geroge did was pretty cool, using a board jummper to keep jumping the board to map the memory.

I think as for running unasigned code outside of Linux, there may be a big problem, getting past the 2nd and 3rd level of security

we are talking 3 year's here with some of the best hackker's arround the world trying to hack the PS3, FROM BRUTE FORCE ATTEMPT'S

TO WEB SCRI ENCRYPTION. ALL HAVE FAILED.

I am not trying to say what George did was not unique, Hell even I had an IDEA .

my IDEA also includes Hardware, but it would be so expensive it's not worth it.

that's why I am pretty sure this is not going to be as easy as the PSP for running unassigned Code.

but we will see.
