That was a bit of a tease wasn't it.

Funny how where Snow and Hope have their mark, maybe it symbolise them having a sibling kind of relationship later on. Or represent different light of character

Yeah I kind thought that too, mostly because they probably have more in common that what's being shown so far. 

Crystarium and Paradigm systems are awesome so far, battles get very strategic if you use them. I created 6 different paradigms myself, and they are very useful. 

I tend to go Diversity

 

then after monster has broken, Tri-devastator (I think it's called that)

 

Lightning, Sazh and Vanille party works pretty

 

Oh and let Vanille learn Aero, it will help against the boss later on.
