The game is on 4 DVD's... Thats a bit much is it not? Looks like having a Blu-ray drive in the PS3 is seeming to be more and more of a good idea!

It would be an issue if the majority of the games were coming on multilpe disks; but considering I can count the multi-disk games on one hand (that I know of at least), it's not a problem. Granted, in a few years, it will become a bigger issue, but we'll be hearing about (or maybe playing on) the new consoles for the next generation (probably with some new disk format that no one wants...(only joking of course)). I believe this is why MS made the choice to go with DVD. They knew they could keep the costs down by going with it, and they also knew that the size of game data wouldn't expand beyond the confines of DVD very much (if at all).

In fact, the only real reason these JRPGs are coming out on so many discs is because the developers, for some reason, are in love with FMV and must include hours of it. They could just do their cutscenes in engine, but I guess that would be too efficient (I guess you can tell, I personally don't like FMV...takes me out of the game enviroment/experience...I think at least). At any rate, Blu-ray is nice (especially for movie watching) but it's not needed in any serious way right now for gaming (unless you love pre-rendered cut scenes).
