I'm glad I wasn't hyped about it.
I'm about 4-5 hours in now and I'm bored as hell. I'm a massive RPG fan and played and loved loads of different ones ranging from Korean grind MMOs, to Final Fantasies to Western and Jap RPGs.
FFXIII is a MASSIVE let down so far. Strip the graphics away and its just a case of run down corridors and repeatedly attack the same kinds of monsters, clicking either attack or defend. Your party is automated, and in a really bad way where you have no control and levelling just isn't fun because you can't even really use the skill you learn unless they're on your main character.
You can't interact with anyone and theres no dialogue choices, theres no shops apart from the bland save points and even getting items is boring since its always from the same randomly placed metal balls, guarded by monsters which only seem to contain the odd acessory.
Really struggling to play this game and this is coming from a guy who used to spend hours levelling up off repetitive monsters in chrono trigger and final fantasy 7.
