Will you play GOW 3 without playing previous ones in the franchise?

i probbaly would still have liked it, but the story wouldnt mean as much to me. why is Kratos' skin so white? (answered, of course, in GoW 1) for example. He would just be this muscly, mega-pissed off dude on a mission. With cool weapons and a backstory that I do not know.

So once I've finished 2 (i'm playing atm), I should have it timed nicely for a couple of weeks studying before playing number 3.
