Skip it. Maybe you should pick up something like Mass Effect 2. It'll ease you into the core concepts of RPGs and make it alot easier to swallow because the combat is like a good 3ps. You probably dislike talking and dialog so it's good that a lot of the conversations in ME2 are short or they end with you pulling a trigger and shooting someone in the face. It's also pretty linear.
