Call of Duty was a PC franchise aswell with a strong cometitive scene aswell, and look how that turned out. From what ive played of BFBC2 i can tell its a Console game aswell, so i guess the initial high PC numbers was just a peak of players wanting to check it out due to MW2 being a kick in the balls.
And JaggedSac's post seem to verify my hypothethis to a certain degree.
