no, those glasses used in cinemas just have polarization filters (line/circular), because in cinemas they use 2 projectors which project the different pictures with differently polarized light to create the 3D effect

first gen 3D TVs however will use the shutterglasses technique (the TV alternates between left/right eye pictures while the glasses alternate between obscuring the left/right side) , because it's easier with just one light source - shutterglasses are way more expensive than polarized glasses though
