Will you play GOW 3 without playing previous ones in the franchise?

Yes I will I've never played a god of war game and god of war 3 will be the first one I play, it will also be the only one I play unless I enjoy this one and they decide to bring out a 4th one. But I will never play 1 or 2 just can't seem to bring myself to play older games that are 3D, yet I can play older 2D games.
