I agree on 7/10, but that means they did enjoy it.

Edge clearly doesn't like RPG's since it gave DA:O 5/10 too.

I've allways considered 7/10 to be an average game, with nothing amazing. Reviewers give great scores too easily these days but atleast edge goes nuts with the reviewing.

I just think they have an idea of what a modern RPG should be like, both Fable 2 and Mass Effect 2 got 9's.

How the fuck does it matter what they believe a "modern RPG" should be like? Their job is to review the game based on what it is, not based on what THEY want it to be. "I want FFXIII to be like Fable II but it isn't, so I think I'll give it a 5". The very fact that you compare Final Fantasy XIII with Fable and Mass Effect shows that you're on the same boat as them.

I wasn't comparing them I was simply pointing out they don't hate all RPG's which is what you said.  They are entitled to have a view on what makes a good RPG and score anything low that doesn't make the mark.
