I don't have the right to marry your life parter either. You could marry mine. SAME RIGHTS. I am not saying you shouldn't have the right to marry your life partner, I am just saying our rights are the same. If my wife died and I decided to just spend the rest of my life living with my father, he would be my life parter, and I should be allowed the same rights between him and I, that I have with my wife. We both can't do that, because of the rights we both don't have. Same rights. You might not like that answer, but it does not make it less true. |
What? you can't marry your father, that's ... I'm not even going to go there.
Straight couples have the right to marry their partner, gay couples do not, saying "but I'm a straight man and I can't marry a man" is just so incredibly dumb. You wouldn't marry a man, neither would I marry a woman.
It's not that I don't like it, I just disagree with it.
