No, this isn't streaming what's on your computer to the phone and XBox360. This is a native app to Windows, Windows Mobile and XBox360, all in one convenient project. It's not OnLive, it's not Remote Play, it's literally the same game running on Windows, Windows Mobile and XBox360. This is pretty cool. Not mindblowing, but cool. Obviously games will be limited to a degree by the least common denominator (Windows Mobile), but it's still a cool concept. And not to derail the thread, but this is something Sony should have done a LONG time ago with the PSP and PS3. Play PS1/PSP games on the PS3 and PSP and have the save data sync. Would be awesome, but sadly, Sony seems shortsighted in instances like this. |
well not shortsighted, their just not finished with it yet.
there are game's made for the PSP that work on the PS3 the same game. so it's not unheard of, there is just more window's OS based devices than there are XMB devices, not to mention Sony and other's with open source have to program arround patent infringement type of software. Microsoft's been at open source platform LINUX for year's about patent infringement.
building a Linux Ecosystem take's year's like it did for Microsoft did when building it's Window's Ecosystem.
