God, this argument is so ridiculous. Mass Effect 2 is MORE RPG than any other game I've ever played. Pull your head out of the sand. RPGs aren't defined by their inventory system.

No, it's a simulator. Hence the, you know, name.

Oh, I feel like I've just had an epiphany

I base the term RPG on the origin of the phrase, D&D or other pen & paper role-playing games. The Sims doesn't qualify because it simply replicates real life. I could play the game or I could go outside and do the exact same thing in real life.

If you show me a place where I can hunt a dragon with a sword, cast spells, or save the universe, I may re-think my stance on the subject.
