Watchmen took place in the 40's, 50's, and 80's. There were no black people back then. Dr. Manhattan and his huge penis had to fill the void of "People of Color".

It was a great movie, in my opinion. At the time of the release of the comic/graphic novel, it was the first to tackle a lot of themes. Since then, some of the themes have been done and re-done in comics and movies. Pretty much any comic nowadays has Watchmen level characterization. The "Anti-Superhero" storyline has been done, done, and re-done since then, too. It was an accurate re-telling of the comic (without the Black Freighter storyline) but a lot of the storyline's impact has been lost.

I loved it, though.
