Bullying at school is kind of a non-argument. You could get bullied for being fat, wearing braces, wearing glasses, not being good at sports and a whole bunch of other things. Doesn't mean bullying is not an issue, but the idea is to make bullies stop, not to conform to what they demand/don't like. Either way in most school environments bullies will find something to dislike about someone, even objectively good things like studying and getting good grades.

Regarding what some said about gay couples having the right to suffer through marriage as much as straight couples... well, I kind of have to agree that marriage is going downhill as an institution. There are a lot of people who manage and are happy with some picture book traditional marriage, plenty of people who manage to split their family duties in accordance with their way of life that doesn't match older traditions; but divorce rate is up there and there is a lot of disbalance. E.g. often hearing that the most discriminated against group in the Western world is the white heterosexual married man (they get indeed pretty roughted up in divorces); or on the other hand having women working the usual 8hrs day and coming back home to do all the housework and mind the kids; kids being spoiled brats (by way of too much entertainment) or maybe not getting any attention from parents (maybe due to lack of time and being tired) etc etc.

Well, I've witnessed my parents' messed up marriage and my brother's one as well, and the word marriage does carry more negative connotations for me than positive ones. Legal/property rights and adoption would be enough for me, I don't want to call whatever I do "marriage" and equate it to what marriage has been for some thousands of years.
