What I love most about this thread are the people that have played Halo once at a friends house or just seen videos on the internet and have little to no understanding of how a competitive, balanced fps works commenting on how "generic" Halo is.

I've taken pleasure in putting people in their place before so if you seriously think Halo has made no innovations then please tell me and I will be glad to post a nice long reply showing you why you are so very wrong.

Also loving the graphics comments, hey everyone lets go look at GOW3's alpha footage and laugh how its just GOW2 in hd. People seriously don't understand anything when it comes to game development.

I'll bite. What has Halo innovated upon other than shoehorning a genre into a very limiting control scheme? Because it's certainly not story, gameplay mechanics, or graphics.

I still can't believe you think Halo takes any amount of skill outside of the simplest requirements to play other FPSes.

I know your banned but;

quick use grenades, regenerative health, 2 weapon maximum for both campaign and multiplayer, animations for getting into and out of vehicles, boarding of enemy vehicles, theater, matchmaking, dual wielding and four player co-op in fps

Each Halo game has brought a new innovation, everything I've listed was done first in Halo. I could go into much further depth with other aspects of Halo too but theres no point since you can't argue back. Not that it would make a difference, your one of, if not the most elitist person on vgchartz. If someone doesn't agree with your opinion you immediately mark them as idiots. Such a person does not warrant an intelligent debate.

For the people saying Halo stole the jet pack idea from tribes. You do realize that the whole concept of a jet pack in a video game has been around for over 25 years right?

Holy horseshoe Batman, Tribes stole the idea of jet packs from Space Harrier!

He's also making the assumption that the first game to do just about anything is automatically superior to anything else that does the same thing, which is rarely true.
