Bioshock 1 was an amazing game that had probably one of the best, if not the best storys for a FPS. It was also a pretty damn solid game in terms of controls and graphics. My GOTY the year it was released.
Bioshock 2 is a good game with a good story (albeit no real shockers and not as well written as the first) with controls and graphics on par with the first. The multiplayer is surprisingly decent. Honestly the bar was set so high for the sequel I felt there was no way the second would topple the first in the single player department and I was correct. Luckily multiplayer was added so It's easier to recommend.
It's just that simple.
