Two possible ways I found. Both are pretty comfy.

Simple fix.

Well, well... I had in my mind: "If we have to use the DS3 as a nunchuck, it will be pretty lame. I have no faith in it."

But then i tried holding it like the second link (http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash1/hs482.ash1/26406_371610420394_641630394_5470805_1663663_n.jpg)

and it's pretty good! I wouldn't mind holding the DS3 at all!

Or, they could provide with each Arc controller a relatively cheap (50c in manufacturing cost probably) clip on handle for the middle of the DS3 that makes it easy to use either analog stick, whether you're right handed or left handed.

I think a 3rd peripheral device to make Arc work across all Arc games puts it into the realm of either too costly for the consumer to really take up, or having to be sold at a loss. Neither of those options is particularly pleasent to contemplate. Much easier and cheaper to make the DS3 comfortable to use, with a well designed piece of platic you can give away without hurting your profits.
