I don't care for marriage

I do, sure you can call it a "meaningless ceremony".  However I don't think it's meaningless if you put meaning in it.

I do believe most care that's why so many are trying to get the right to get it. As for me, I don't see the point, maybe later in life I would let someone have access to half of my asset, but not yet.

Eh, that part is always iffy, but i'm talking more about the simple construct of marriage... since as stated above, I think marriage should be just that... a title and a ceremony with nothing else attached.

But what is it about marriage that messes go relationships.

Friend of mine from work been together with girlfriend for 6 years, living together too. finally gets married, I think at least $40, 000 was spent for that wedding. 6 months later, the marriage is over.

Honestly marriage probably didn't "break" the relationship.

Usually when people date for a long period of time then finally decide to get married it's because something recently has gone wrong and they hope the marriage will fix the relationship.

This is what I believe in :

Marriage should be a contract which is dated, such as 2 years, 5 years, 10 years. It should have an experation date which if chosen can be renewed. I also believe one must earn a license to wed, such attending couseling and help before hands.

I also believe people should be licenced to to become a parent as well.
