It's wrong to pronounce it like Echo, it's eh-coh, not ee-coh For anyone that can read Japanese, it's spelled エコー・ザ・ドルフィン

why didn't you just give the the romanization as well? e koo za do ru fu i n
Since the Japanese "e" is pronounced "eh" ("i" is "ee"), clearly it's pronounced essentially the same way I pronounce "echo" except with a drawn-out "o" sound.
In fact, you also say it's "eh coh", and yet you somehow think this makes it NOT pronounced the same way as "echo"? Is this an American vs. Brit thing?
http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/echo this dictionary lists only one pronunciation -- "ecko", or exactly how I say the word. You can play it by clicking the little speaker.

Weird, I'm pretty sure I was taught that echo was pronounced eecoh...blame my teachers?

Okay, though it's one of the things that's a bitch about English. Yes, it's a short e in echo, just like in echochrome, which is actually said in the demo.
