I never noticed, but I think it's just because it's been scaled down. Here's a bigger version:
My company was going to do a wikipedia type project for IT professionals (I work for Windows IT Pro Magazine). They called it WikIT and when they told me about it, this is the first thing that popped into my head. I named him Hopumakeaole and said that he was the Hawaiian God of Computer Geeks.
Unfortunately, the project never took off (mainly because it was a stupid idea), but I loved the character and have decided to keep him.
