I should be start another book of Cormac McCarthy's soon - All the Pretty Horses once I finish up this teaching book I'm reading at the moment. I'm really looking forward to it. I really, really enjoyed The Road. I do enjoy reading the odd science book as well - Greene and Dawkins especially. I've also picked up quick a few classics that I hadn't yet read for really cheap a few weeks back, among them: Animal Farm, Crime and Punishment being my two most anticipated. Great thread though. Some of these recommendations have sparked my interest. By the way, I have a difficult time getting into Science Fiction... could anyone recommend a novel that acts as a good introduction to the series? Light. Not too long or expansive. Just really accessible. Thanks. |
Try Foundation, by Isaac Asimov, it's a connection of 5 stories linked together, each one is the continuation of the previous, it's not long (less than 200 pages), and not very complex and easy to read, but still one of the best books you can ever read
