I gotta credit it mainly with that. Nothing about the game itself there, just that the lesson that should be learned, and unfortunately is not likely, is that marketing a game well is very important.
Final Fantasy was a niche series in the west before Sony gave VII a huge, well done push.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
