DO NOT TURN ON YOUR FAT PS3 - date bug is majorly screwing up systems

I turned my PS3 on today at around 4:30 pm offline and shut if off 15 minutes later (used the browser)
I didn't notice anything wrong
im keeping it off, (I have an old 80GB model w/BC) do I have anything to worry about?
