Nintendo have told us the reason many times. If you are like any other publisher and you make a habit of dropping the price of all of your games, then people will begin to anticipate this, and never buy full price games.
Anyway, 2010 will be the biggest year for the Wii in terms of lineup

This is such BS. Tons of people buy games even though they will obviously drop in price over time (every game except Nintendo games and COD titles, though COD titles actually go on sale). Some people are not willing to pay $50-$60 for every game that comes out, and Nintendo thinks they are exempt from this. Honestly, their strategy is to stop making games that aren't selling well anymore rather than permanently lower the price. It's a bit annoying especially if you bought your Nintendo console well after some of these games came out.

I love how scottie always argues in favor of nintendo, rather than the customer. Maybe he owns stock.

Excuse me? I merely repeated the reason Nintendo have provided on dozens of occasions, so that ameratsu can understand why it occurs. I made no judgement about it either way. In what sense am I arguing in favour of Nintendo?
I haven't even decided if I think it's good or not. Obviously, it's annoying because I like paying less money for my games, but it means that Nintendo has the money to develop awesome games they know will make a loss or a very small profit (Fire Emblem anyone). it's a dilly of a pickle
