I agree they should be paid more, but c'mon. I live in the Northeast and it's 1100 per month just for rent. Compare that to 200-300 per month out west. I seem to be able to get by on 20,000/year so I don't know what they're complaining about.

Where is this out west you speak of?

Colorado.

I also just checked out SF Bay area and the rent for most places is cheaper than here.

You must live in tokyo or something. The Bay has some of the most expensive rates for rent in the country. Or you were looking at Oakland's prices and thinking that that is the SF bay area. You can't rent anything for under $1,000 out here in LA and I don't even live in the expensive areas.

Colorado, Arizona, Nevada those places probably do have really cheap rent. except for like prime land in Vegas or other nicer cities But I'm sure there are just as many places out east that have cheap rent too. It's not the region that really determines the price but just the area or the city.

I live in Boston. The third highest rental market in the US. However, I believe that the rental market in SF is high just because of the amount people are willing to pay, which skews the average. Prices there look cheaper than here...at least on craigslist.
