Crackdown 2 Delayed and Secret Announcement at E3 (Video Creator?)

This week Peter Molyneux gave a keynote speech at the gaming forum at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival. Along with him though executive producer at Microsoft Game Studio Peter Connelly came to talk, mostly about Crackdown 2. While the game has little or nothing to do with cinematic gameplay he did talk about the trailers that were created so far and capturing Crackdown's essence within it. He also gave a few hints, probably accidentally but it did seem to give a clearer picture to when the game will be released.

Unfortunately when he was talking about the game he gave a few indications that it's been delayed until the fall. During one of Major Nelson's podcasts in January they were talking about how Microsoft are releasing an exclusive every month for the first half of the year. In it they mentioned games like Mass Effect 2, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Alan Wake and of course Crackdown 2. Peter unfortunately said during his keynote that there is a secret announcement regarding Crackdown 2 that will be unveiled at E3 this year. This would lead to the game not coming out in the first half of 2010. I wouldn't expect the game to release until the Fall of 2010, possibly early September.

There is good news to be had folks, Peter did mention there will be a secret announcement and it was around the time he was mentioning the videos he watched on Youtube about all the crazy things people did and found while playing Crackdown. He said he really enjoyed watching them so it seems there will be a video creator and possibly a way to share them in Crackdown 2.

As of right now this is just speculation but the release seems to be pretty accurate after the game wasn't playable at X10 and was at other events beforehand. For more news and reviews check back to Game-Smack.net.
