Obvious reasons are actually fairly obvious.
The better areas you grow up in... the more likely you are to be liberal. While the poorer areas are more likely to be conservative.
Which is always funny because it's generally a bunch of middle class people saying "We know what's better for you" and a bunch of poorer people saying "We want to take care of our damn selves."
It's the same reason why conservatives are more likely to donate to charity... the poorer you are, the more you focus on what YOU can do and what effects YOU have on your enviroment, rather then what everyone else can do for you, since from an younger age you had to look out for yourself.
How you grow up also is going to effect athleticism... based on younger nutrition etc... and sexual desire is often tied to how healthy you are.
I used to be about the most liberal person you'd know... until I actually met some poor people and found out what they generally want out of a system adn realized that what people want more then anything is just incentive to work hard. To just feel like if they work hard they can make it.
They generally don't want overarching liberal plans. They just want to clear out laws to make sure everyone gets a fair shake... even if it means starting at the bottom.

Got any proof for this? Because just about everything I've seen or heard indicates the opposite. But I'd love to learn something new.

I agree with Monti here, Poor people want Government to help, while those who have it better wants gov to stay away.

Have you ever seen the rich/poor state splits when it comes to whether they voted for Bush or Gore?
|
rich and poor state is very different vs actual poor and rich people.
I live in New York, there are as many poor people here than those little states you speak of
|
No there isn't. Because rich and poor states are decided by median income.

In the real world I live in, someone making $30, 000 in New York is not living the same way as someone making the same in Georgia or Florida.
