I think they've lost the plot personally. They focus wayyy too much on graphics to the expense of everything else, they tailor their games to engines and not the other way around. In the end they aren't even the masters of the cinematic game, its Infinity Ward and their Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 which has twice blown them out of the water in their own home field.
