Similarly, a number of the PS2s I have seen "in the wild" (not necessarily friends, but I have been to some parties and one of my flatmates had a friend bring one over) have basically been either FIFA/PES playing machines... or Buzz/Singstar/Eyetoy machines (though I quite enjoyed a couple of eyetoy games, so nothing against that) which are also only brought out at parties and similar events. In fact I only know 1 person (in real life) who actually has a relatively diverse (well not as diverse as i would go for, but more than 2 genres and at least 10 games) PS2 game collection.

Agree. The ps2 had great games but most people who owned it were already casual gamers....just they weren't called like that at the time.
