I like some of the things he said but the whole Casual or Core propaganda is getting out of hand. Last gen gamers were gamers there was no " Casuals versus the Core" mentality. Gaming Journalist, Developers, and Publishers seem to think that if you are a core gamer that you do not enjoy core games or vice versa. This is not true for a majority of the gaming public.

Actually, all that 'casual vs core' junk started last gen.  It just exploded this gen because of the Wii and DS and Nintendos approach being 'different' than the 'HD systems'.

And the 'casual vs core' junk is just an extension of the 'hardcore vs non-hardcore' junk started back in the SNES vs genesis days.

If you say so. I actually do not remember last gen being that way. Especially, not in the Press. IGN, Gamespot, and other sites that I visited never really engaged in the "Casual Vs Core " banter, now they do. The PS2 had a mixture of Casual and Core games or what people take as such and it also had a broad demographic that made up it's fanbase. Yet as I stated before, the Gaming sites that I visited never had articles about the PS2 being a Casual Platform.

If Nintendo is successful at the moment, it’s because they are good, and I cannot blame them for that. What we should do is try to be just as good.----Laurent Benadiba
