SECOND TO NONE

most boring mega generic supa lame character I've seen, shit it would 10 Rico's to best this guys.

i always wondered if halo was actually going to be a bike/kart racing game before they thought of making it an RTS (to FPS)

While I don't think Master Chief is the most interesting character ever, I think he's better than Kratos.  Seeing screenshots of Halo I don't get flooded of him doing these macho things over and over, I get screenshots of just him.  He's intriguing.  Kratos is just one-dimensional point and kill.  Bor-ing.

You break any character down into simple stereotypes.  Nathan Drake is your general Indianna Jones adventurer.  Does that make him boring?  Hell no, he's great!  He has personality and doesn't make you bored of the great things he does.

Even Mario, yeah, he's a stupid stupid character who is even more one-dimensional than Kratos and Master Chief combined but that works for him.  I see trailers for a Mario game and see him drilling through a planet or jumping on something and I think wow, that looks fun.

When I see a trailer for God of War III, I see Kratos swinging his swords killing these mammoth creatures in giant amazing brutal ways and he just makes it boring.

lol Hypocrit! Master chief? ALL he does is shoot aliens who come in hordes and die in hordes.... :D Let's face it...you don't like the game gow...you haven't even played it properly, yet your stating the character is boring when the game involves puzzles, mythology, HUGE scale battles etc....again this threads existence itself is a joke

I'm pretty sure the difference is that Master Chief is actually kinda mysterious.  Not sure, i've never played single player Halo so maybe you meet his grandmother or something... but Kratos, you know everything about him... it's just kinda boring and an excuse to kill stuff.  Which isn't bad persay, but it certaintly isn't award winning or make him that interesting.

While master chief... I don't know anything about him.  His story may also suck and just be a justification to kill aliens... like the old "my parents died when i was young... because of the ALIENS!"  You don't really know though, and sometimes not knowing is more interesting then knowing.

"How'd my action figure move all the way across the room?   Oh my cat moved it."

The not knowing is often better then knowing.
