I have not tried RPGMaker XP on Windows 7 but it worked for me on Vista so I assume it will work on 7 too. If anything, just run it compatability mode. If I think about it I'll install RPGMaker XP on my Windows 7 laptop and see if it works. -edit- And I'm not saying the OP's efforts are futile, I'm just saying he's trying to fill a niche that has already been filled. I haven't looked at anything beyond this thread, but so far it looks like RPGMaker XP but without the community and $60 less. To me, the community is worth $60. I think making your own thing like that is great and something every one that aspires to be a tools programmer should do. Hell, I think everyone who wants to be any sort of programmer in the gaming industry should at leasat make their own 2D engine. I started to one day but never actually got around to finishing it. >_> |
I know what you mean but RPG Maker is too fidely for some users, which is why I already implemented unlimed tilesets per map, it makes users lives so much easier, Next I have to explain my character customisation functionality, which also has new and better features...
Anyway I am doing it because I love RPG's and it's keeping me busy and I already have learned loads so far, as I used to be just a software developer, quite a leap lol, as software development is much easier
it's the future of handheld
