It's just that, in Heavy Rain, even your mistakes are going to keep the story going. On top of that, there really are some amazing moments in this game. If there were a spoiler- free thread, I could convince people that HR is a must play (possibly the best experience I have this generation --I'm probably blinded by it's "newness") but at the same time, I'd be spoiling it for people. |
This is a pretty good comparison... HR does have more in common with the point and click adventure genre, but yes, there is not always a penalty for you slipping up, and (as the review said) there aren't any real "puzzles" that hinder your progress.
I think the best thing that can be said for this game is that it IS ART... Art can be divisive and still be good.
Cons:
-bad voice acting on secondary chacters
-stilted animation
-graphics are inconsistent (lifelike character interacts with object rendered by PS2)
Pros:
-Atmospheric, tense moments
-Intriguing plot
-Cinematic presentation
Depending on how you weigh it, this one is gonna be all over the charts.
