its like in the PSP... if a game requires a certain firmware version it caries it on the disc and installs it before the first run of the game! only devs can answer your 2nd question... Example: for GT5 to run in 1080p with so much improvements over the prologue version i don't find that strange that the game was delayed so they can use this feature (this is purely speculative)...
