Well I'm still on my first playthrough so I can't say for sure but from what I've seen so far there are multiple outcomes for every chapter of the story. Not only that but I have already seen my decisions from a previous chapter, affect my options on a later chapter. And if you let a character die, the story goes on without them. I'd say that an ending with 1 of 4 characters alive is probably a lot different than an ending with all 4 surviving. Just as an example.
Like I said, I can't say for sure because I haven't finished it yet but I suppose that could be the case. All I know is I'm enjoying it immensely so far.
