Interestingly it looks like the the America's council is backing up Argentina.

Well the new one that kicked out the US and Canada.

what does that mean though?

international law as I understand it says the Falklands are part of the UK and the waters also

It means that they see the Falklands as Argentina's i'd imagine if they're backing up Argentina's claims.

The UK has more then just Argentina it has to deal with if Argentina tries to pull anythng.   Pretty much everything Mexico and south of mexico.

Though, it's likely only going to be economic at worst... argentina has vowed to not attack.

Even if violence did break out the UK could take the entire central and south american regions.

I think we should ignore them and drill anyway, what are they gonna do? we have the islanders and the law on our side.

I wonder if that's really true, or it's just a matter of the UK exploiting it's favored status to bend the law it's way.

I mean, do you even know the basis of the Argentine claim

im vaguely familiar with the history of the islands if thats what you mean

according to everything ive read/seen/heard, the law says the water is part of falklands territory.

In general the british claim to the falklands itself is a bit suspect all things considered.
