Socom uses the PSN id system. So for leaderboards, if a game's individual id code and a PSN id code doesn't match, features like a leaderboard shouldnt work, at all. So inorder to associate the game's id to your individual PSN id, its expected that you have to pay for that.

Realize that Sony is going for a PC style online base. This matches PC perfectly.

 

You can still play the game offline, without question.

Xbox Live has leaderboards for games which can be played by multiple accounts, I don't buy it. The thing I said is they may end up doing this for PSN and locking it in on a per console/account basis and you essentially repeated what I just said.

Either you don't mind it or you hate it. Theres no liking this possibility.
