No need for all new dev kits, or devs needing to become familiar with another entirely new system. Really sexy new case design with all those touch buttons back. Launch at $399. b/c with everything. Profitable from day 1. The one thing Sony needs to not fall behind on is the data storage capacity of the disc media they choose. If Xbox moves to this holodisc thingy with 200-300 GB capacity and PS3.5 is "making do" with a 130GB 4-layer BR then that won't looks so good with the techy crowd. Can't make any moves until PS3 is at least $199, and better still if PS3 is at $149. |
You can do SSD on your PS3 now but whats the real benefit? I don't anticipate SSD being cheap for another 5 years. That's just wishful thinking to incorporate all you mentioned and still make a profit.
