That's a very weird stance to take, considering that's exactly what everyone does with pre-release screenshots. And the native resolution the game runs in makes for very tiny pictures if they put it in print, so higher resolution is also needed. Uncharted 2's pre-release screenshots were most likely all touched up in a similar manner.
