Yes it's a world of peace and love on PSN.  No one EVER says anything untoward if there's a Blu-Ray in the room.

And as for the moderator, his job was NOT to be public relations at that point.  He tried that route when he was answering their questions.  His role was to be the police then, and sometimes the police need to be forceful.  That kid was not going to listen to calm, persuasive speech.  The Pro was fine.  He probably should have just pulled the kid's plug a little sooner, but I think it's good for people to know that this happens.  They should have banned him for more than just a couple days.
