SE is already a company in decline, and to dismiss the #1 console as a toy, is just foolish. They will realize the error of their ways when FFXIII is released. Final Fantasy XII sold 4.95 million, a respectable sum but far from the amount the series sold in its prime. This was on a system which sold 117.89 million units. Even if PS3 doubles its sales by the time FFXIII is released, we're looking at very poor sales if the attach ratio doesn't greatly improve. |
Well said damkira. Square Enix is totally missing the big picture here. Why the attach ratio is lower? Because the ratio from good/crappy games is lower. They could really reign here if they did it correctly, just like they did with FFVII on the PSOne. Not that I like it, but it was succesful in an ocean of subpar games.
